Intel’s next big launch is their 4th generation Haswell processors. We actually got a demo of the built-in graphics on the chip at CES, but that was it. No firm release date, we were just told, “later in the year”. It seems like DigiTimes has the scoop from an insider that the Haswell CPUs will launch on June 2 to be showcased during Computex (June 4-8).
“The sources noted that the new CPUs will appear on June 2 and related PC products will be showcased at Computex, hosted from June 4-8.”
This makes perfect sense as Intel will hold an event to announce the new chips right before Computex and use Computex as a platform to promote not only the new CPUs, but products that will be using the new CPUs.
If this all turns out to be true with the announcement coming in the second quarter of the year I would expect shipments to start right before the third quarter.
