Intel’s Core i9-9900KS will have a TDP of 127W

Intel has been talking about their upcoming Core i9-9900KS a lot lately. This processors will be much like the existing Core i9-9900K, but will have an all-core boost of 5GHz. So when you are doing a multi-threaded workload all of the cores will boost up to 5GHz, not just one or two. While Intel has been talking a lot about this chip the one thing that remained a mystery was the TDP. That is no longer a mystery as ASUS has released a BIOS update for its motherboards that lists this TDP.

The current i9-9900K’s TDP is 95W, while the upcoming i9-9900KS will have a TDP of 127W, an increase of 34 percent. This TDP is likely just for the base clock of the chip, not the 5GHz all-core overclock. The big question we have with this high of a TDP how long will the chip even be able to handle the 5GHz all-core boost? Maybe 20-30 seconds?

The i9-9900KS is expected to be released next month.
