According to the latest reports we could see Intel’s Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X desktop processors ahead of the earlier rumored dates. The latest reports put the release between June 19th and July 9th. This means we should see an announcement of the new chipset and CPUs likely at Computex 2017, which kicks off on May 30th in Taipei.
Both Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X parts are likely to use the new LGA 2066 socket. Skylake-X parts are to include anywhere between 6 and 10 cores, support quad-channel DDR4, and have 44 PCI-Express lanes. Kaby Lake-X parts on the other hand will have just four cores, dual-channel memory and only 16 PCI-Express lanes from the CPU.
