Rumors and leaks for the iPhone 5 have been all over the internet for the past few months. I don’t think there has been a day when I haven’t seen something about Apple’s upcoming iPhone. There are some things that we know already, it will have a larger touchscreen, 4G LTE connectivity, and a smaller dock connector. Now it is very likely that it will now receive a processor upgrade to an A6 processor.
Sonny Dickson of 9to5Mac tweeted a photo showing a supposed iPhone 5 board containing an A6 chip.

There are no details on the A6 processor at this time and we do not know if it is even real! Apple began using its own, in-house system-on-a-chip (SoC) designs with the introduction of the iPad. The latest iPhone (4S) uses a dual-core Apple A5 chip. Will the A6 chip be quad-core? A brand new SoC designation for the iPhone 5 could indicate big changes.
