Logitech Launches the G502 Lightspeed Wireless Mouse

This week Logitech will be introducing a new version of their very popular G502 mouse. It will be called the G502 Lightspeed and will be a wireless gaming mouse. It will have Logitech’s latest Hero 16K sensor and internally it has been redesigned to accommodate the wireless hardware.

The G502 Lightspeed will make use of Logitech’s proprietary Lightspeed wireless technology, which is designed to minimize input lag. According to Logitech they are able to achieve this by optimizing the internal architecture, increasing the polling rate of the wireless receiver to 1 ms, increasing the signal strength, applying a proprietary frequency hopping mechanism which uses the strongest interference-free channel, and optimizing the software stack as well.

You not only are going to get wireless connectivity with this mouse, but also wireless charging too. This is done via Logitech’s PowerPlay wireless magnetic charging technology. This is sold separately from the G502 Lightspeed and is a power reception module that you plug into the mouse itself and a special power mat that only works with Logitech devices.

The mouse itself is very much like the G502 mouse that was released in 2014. It has 11 programmable buttons, adjustable weight system, textured rubber side, and of course the Hero 16K sensor.

Pricing and Availability
The G502 Lightspeed will be available this month from Logitech and its retail partners. It will carry with it a MSRP of $149.99.
