Lowepro Flipside 200 Camera Backpack Review

Setup & Usage

So of course I loaded up the Flipside 200 with all of my gadgets and things I would normally bring along with me on a day of shooting. They include my Canon Rebel XT D-SLR camera with attached lens, Canon battery charger, iPhone, Mophie Juice Pack Air iPhone charger, Flip MinoHD, Flip Ultra, iPod, iPhone AC charger, and my headphones. Everything fit nicely inside the bag without any problems. I had room for a lot more accessories and even an extra lens or two. The cable bag really helped out a lot too!

So I have been using the bag for about a week now taking it with me pretty much everywhere I go. It is very comfortable, even though my camera is larger with the extra battery pack on it. This is because the cushioning on the back of the bag. As I said the bag is very slim so you could easily jog, run, or ride a bike and not feel like you have a huge backpack on your back.

Most backpack style bags make it so you have to take the bag off the remove your camera and accessories, but with the Flipside 200 you don’t have to. First you want to make sure you have the waist strap connected then take the shoulder straps off and slide the bag around so it is in front of you. Then you can go ahead and get your camera and accessories out. In Lowepro’s Flipside 200 product video they show exactly how to get into the bag without taking it off. Although this is a little complicated it does make it so you don’t have to take the bag off and after doing it a few times it is really easy. Also keep in mind that since the opening of the bag is on the back you don’t have to worry about anyone trying to grab things out of your bag when you are shooting.

Also with all of the protection for your camera you won’t have to worry about dropping the bag or being a little rough with it.

Since you open the bag from the bag it does give you a little more security say if you are in a crowded place. Looking at this bag you really don’t even know where to open it if you haven’t seen it before. This is a small but effective security feature!
