Lowepro Flipside 200 Camera Backpack Review

[ad#review1035-top]If you own a SLR or Digital-SLR (D-SLR) camera you need to protect it. Everyone I know that owns an expensive camera has at least one bag for it, if not more. Today we will be taking a look at another bag from Lowepro. This bag has a nice slim design, but also has a good amount of room for a SLR camera, a few lenses, accessories, and even a tripod. This bag has a very yet simple yet effective security system too. So let’s take a look at the Flipside 200!

Capacity:

1 DSLR with 80-200mm f/2.8 lens attached plus 1-3 additional lenses or flash units, 1 tripod, multiple cables, memory cards, manuals and other digital accessories

Size(Interior):

7W X 5D X 15H in.
17.8 X 12.6 X 38 cm

Size(Exterior):

8.6W X 6.2D X 16.5H in.
21.8 X 15.7 X 42 cm

Weight:

2.2lbs/1kg

Packaging

There really isn’t much packaging for a camera bag, but if you order one of these online it will most likely come wrapped in a plastic Lowepro bag. The bag also comes with a small card that explains all of the features.

  1. Actually this case is pretty good considering most camera bags, are carry over one shoulder. This backpack style is much better for your back / posture. Good thinking!

  5. I bought a Lowepro Flipside 200 and received it today 10 March 2010. I had travelled to the camera show at NEC to have a look at their backpacks side by side – I also bought a Pro Trekker 400. The 200 I received had obviously not been through any kind of quality control – it was seriously under width. Despite Lowepro's claims about it being large enough for one DSLR with 80-200 zoom – plus 1-3 extra lenses or flash units – I couldn't even get the camera and lens in there. Additional items were out of the question.

    Lowepro had no UK reps available when I called and Lowepro US flatly refused to give me the email address of their customer services department – and it's not online either. Their claims about any commitment to quality and customer service are questionable. I doubt if they bother looking at the stuff being churned out in China.
