We talked previously about AMD actually having three different platforms for their upcoming 3rd Generation Threadripper CPUs. These were the TRX40, TRX40, and WRX80. Well it looks like at least one has been confirmed, MSI has listed a “Creator TRX40” as an eligible product for their $25 Steam rebate after purchase program that they are running.
The “Creator” series from MSI first made its debut with their X299 motherboard and as the name suggests is made for creators. For those wondering about TRX40 it is going to be the gamer / enthusiast platform for Threadripper 3. It will have a 4-channel DDR4 memory interface, 64 PCI-Express gen 4.0 lanes from the processor, and additional lanes from the chipset. This chipset should have a very similar feature-set to X570.
