MSI MEG Trident X2 Gaming PC Review

MSI MEG Trident X2 Gaming PC

Taking a first look at the MEG Trident X2 Gaming PC we have a very sleek looking system. As far as size goes the system has official dimensions of 487.15x 222.63 x 453.84mm (WxDxH) and weighs in at just over 32 lbs. I would say the system is about the size of a smaller mid-tower.

The system is definitely not like a traditional PC case though. MSI has really come up with a sleek angular design, something that is going to really stand out sitting on your desk. The front of the case is sort of separated by a RGB element which we will get into in a bit. Towards the bottom of the system is a small MSI logo. One of the more interesting things about this system is that it features a 4.5-inch touchscreen on the front. We will get into this in a bit as well.

At the top of the unit you’ll find a large triangular power button and then on the left side are some connections. These include a two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, headphone and microphone jacks, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. There is also a small activity LED.

On the top of the case is there a section of ventilation, which is actually mainly for the graphics card. You’ll see how all of that is designed once we get inside the system. The main side of the system has a very glossy finish to it and we can see why MSI has included the cleaning cloth as we can see this being a fingerprint magnet. Looking at the case from this side we can see how MSI has design a large base to support the chassis. The opposite side panel has a sort of angular design to it with ventilation in the center.

Moving around to the back of the system we can see that MSI is going with an inverse design compared to a typical PC case. At the top is our graphics card so we have our three DisplayPort and one HDMI port. Moving down there is a cooling fan and we have our connections from the motherboard. These include a combination PS/2 port, two USB 2.0, HDMI, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A), one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (Type-C), 2.5G LAN, 1G LAN, and audio connections. At the bottom of the unit is your power supply, which does have a Zero Fan button.
