Although MSI has remained silent on the launch of the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT, it’s evident that they are focusing extensively on their GeForce RTX 40 series lineup. In this lineup, MSI has introduced the GAMING SLIM series and the new white RTX 4070 Ventus 2X. Currently, MSI offers an impressive selection of 79 different models based on the RTX 40 series, while their offerings in the Radeon RX 7000 series are notably limited, consisting of only four models.
MSI’s latest addition to its continuously expanding lineup is the VENTUS 2X WHITE, which is based on the 200W RTX 4070 SKU. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time MSI has released a dual-fan RTX 4070 with the Ventus 2X branding; they previously offered models with a sleek black and silver color scheme. What’s particularly noteworthy here is MSI’s strategy to diversify its product range by introducing three distinct color options: black (available in both GAMING and VENTUS variants), white (also in GAMING and VENTUS variants), and silver (found under the SUPRIM series).
The newly refreshed Ventus White series keeps the same clock speeds as their original black versions, presenting two options with clock speeds of either 2490 MHz or 2520 MHz (adjustable through MSI software). In essence, this update primarily revolves around a color alteration, as the cooler design and specifications remain unaltered.
Just to recap, the cooler comes with dual Torx 4.0 fans, a slim dual-slot form factor measuring 24.2×12.5cm, and an impressively lightweight construction, weighing in at only 672 grams. To provide context, this weight is over twice as light as the GAMING SLIM models.
You can now purchase the MSI RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X White on Newegg for $549.
