MSI is back at it again teasing a new X299 motherboard. Last week they posted a picture of what we all assumed was an upcoming X299 motherboard. Now they have posted another image of what we believe is the same motherboard.
This time we get a photo of the rear I/O of this upcoming motherboard. As we can see from this picture this motherboard is a “GODLIKE” motherboard. Can we assume this will be their X299 GODLIKE board? In the picture MSI is advertising ASmedia’s 3142 USB 3.1 controller that offers 50% lower power consumption and single & dual device performance boost.
There are some other interesting things we see. First do you notice the triple Ethernet connectors? This is the first time we’ve seen this on a motherboard! We also spot dual WiFi antennas, which are directly connected to the board. I like this implementation so much better than the antenna with the long wire we’ve seen previously. There are 6x USB 3.1 ports as well as a Type-C port, which could be Thunderbolt 3.
This is all on top of the 4x PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and 3x M.2 slots already revealed previously. Who is excited for X299?!
