Besides’s MSI’s high-end Z87 MPower Max Motherboard and their Z87 XPower Motherboard MSI has a whole line of Z87 Gaming motherboards. Their upcoming Z87-GD65 motherboard has been pictured and detailed by CoolEnjoy. This board is made for gamers and latest notable addition includes the Sound Blaster Core chip which provides enhanced audio quality through the 7.1 channel audio jack.
MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Motherboard Detailed
Just like the previous version of the board the Z87-GD65 features a dragon black and red design. Expansion slots include three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, three PCI Express x1 slots and a mPCI Express combo slots near the top PCI Express x16 slot. As you can guess this motherboard supports both SLI and CrossFireX multi GPU functionality. As far as storage goes you have six SATA 6GB/s ports. The I/O includes six USB 3.0 ports, LAN ports powered by the Killer Ethernet chip (Killer E2200), HDMI, DVI, VGA, clear CMOS button, and a game device port.
Power is provided to the CPU by an 8pin power connector. The board makes use of a 12 phase VRM. Like all new MSI boards this one uses Military Class IV components which include supper ferrite chokes and solid state capacitors. On the bottom of the board you have a few switches which include OC Genie 4, Power on/off, Reset and there is also a debug LED.
