A new job posting has surfaced on the Blizzard Careers page for a “Quest Designer” for an “unannounced project” for the Diablo team. The candidate will will be helping to “create play areas, quests, characters, and dialogue for an upcoming project.” They’ll also need to understand quest design and be fans of gothic fiction.
Many people believe this posting seems to confirm that Blizzard is working on a new Diablo game and given that there are 19 Diablo-related jobs on the Blizzard careers page, we would say they are right.
If you remember last year at Blizzcon the company announced Diablo Immortal, a mobile game, which gamers were not happy about and the Activision-Blizzard stock dropped by 7% after that announcement. Blizzard did state that there were “multiple Diablo projects” in the works and after Blizzcon it was reported that Diablo 4 was in active development.
Back in November Blizzard confirmed one of these new Diablo projects would be announced in 2019, so expect that announcement around Blizzcon time.
