Accessories
In addition to the plethora of fans, Noctua also sent us a variety of fan accessories to look over as well. Outside of fans and heatsinks, the accessories that Noctua offers are quite impressive; from various power cables, splitters, fan mounts, and fan controllers to name a few, the variety is quite large.
NA-FC1
The NA-FC1 is quite different from most of the fan controllers we have seen, yet it offers quite the punch in a very small footprint. With the included accessories, the NA-FC1 can control up to three 12V or 5V PWM fans. We really loved the fact that Noctua has opted to use a SATA power connector for the NA-FC1; the less 4-pin MOLEX connectors the better if you ask us. We do wish the controller came with some form of mounting solution in the form of either an adhesive pad or mounting holes with screws.
From the top, we see that the NA-FC1 has a very simple design. An amber LED in the top left glows brighter as the RPMs of the fans increase, while the green LED in the upper right corner lights up when the “no stop” mode is enabled. This mode can be toggled on and off by pressing the button below the speed dial, and ensures the fans never dip below 300RPM.
On one end of the controller is a connector for the SATA power adapter, and on the opposite end you will find a connector for a 4-pin PWM plug.
NA-SAC5
While basic in design, the NA-SAC5 serves a great function that we appreciate. This power adapter cable takes a SATA power connector and adapts it to a 4-pin plug for fan connectivity.
NA-SAV3 and NA-SAV4
The NA-SAV3 and NA-SAV4 silicon anti-vibration mounts are Noctua’s way of providing a secure, yet easy to install, solution for dampening the noise from a fan. And while the anti-vibration pads on their fans will take care of most of this problem, the NA-SAV3 and NA-SAV4 mounts will go the extra mile to ensure it.
