Noctua is one of the most well-known air CPU cooler makers out there. If someone is looking for a high performance air cooler we almost always recommend a Noctua cooler. Recently they’ve come out with a completely passive CPU cooler, meaning it has no fans! This means you are completely reliant on the design (and size) of the heatsink to really dissipate the heat from your CPU. Having a passive design means that there are no loud fans in your system, which is a plus to many people. We’ve seen passive CPU coolers in the past, but none have ever really impressed us. The real question is if the NH-P1 can handle the thermal load of modern processors? Read on as we find out!
Special thanks to Noctua for providing us with the NH-P1 Passive CPU Cooler to review.
Like all Noctua products the NH-P1 comes in a nice retail box with basically all of the information you would want on the cooler, from its specification to features.
Getting everything out of the box we have the NH-P1 cooler itself and a box with your mounting hardware, thermal paste, and a set of fan clips if you wanted to install a fan.
