NVIDIA has just announced that their year GPU Technology Conference (GTC) will be an online event, instead of having it at the San Jose Convention Center like it always is. NVIDIA cites Covid-19 (Coronavirus) concerns as the root cause of this change, which makes sense as the virus continues to spread and the health of its employees and attendees of the event is very important to the company. So an online event seems more in line with what is going on right now.
In their press note, NVIDIA did say that NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang will still deliver a keynote address, which will be available exclusively by livestream. Also all of those who registered for a GTC pass will receive a full refund. This is yet another tech event that has been impacted by the Covid-19 virus outbreak, other include Mobile Word Congress and the Game Developers Conference. Is Computex next?
