NVIDIA To Launch GeForce RTX 4060 non-Ti GPU At The End Of June

Initially, NVIDIA had planned to release the RTX 4060 Ti in May and the RTX 4060 in the first half of July. However it was later discovered that a 16GB version of the Ti SKU was also scheduled for release in the second half of July. Currently, there have been no changes regarding the 16GB model, but it appears that the non-Ti card is now expected to arrive earlier than anticipated.

According to MEGAsizeGPU, the on-shelf date for the GeForce RTX 4060 has been moved up to the end of June. This suggests that the card will be released one to two weeks earlier than the initial plan. However, it is important to note that NVIDIA has not officially confirmed the specific release date for the RTX 4060, except for mentioning the month.

NVIDIA has several motivations to expedite the release of this card, primarily due to the lukewarm reception towards the RTX 4060 Ti model. The company chose to launch the Ti SKU at a price of $399, which did not generate much enthusiasm among the GPU community. A clear example of this lack of interest can be seen in Japan, where gamers typically line up late into the night to purchase new GeForce GPUs. Surprisingly, only one individual showed up at one of the retailers, indicating the general sentiment towards the product.

As a result, NVIDIA may attempt to release the non-Ti version of its RTX 4060, a graphics card priced at $299, before inevitable price reductions take place. This could lead to a significant transformation in the GPU market in the upcoming month, as the competition intensifies not only between NVIDIA and AMD but also with the entry of Intel Arc graphics. The stage is set for a fierce price war in the GPU landscape.
