A new website has been launched by NVIDIA called Made to Game. It teases an upcoming project that is said to be a brand new gaming platform. This new platform will be unveiled next week at an event in San Francisco.
A message from NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang is as follows:
“I would like to invite you to attend a very special event on March 3rd.
More than 5 years in the making, what I want to share with you will redefine the future of gaming.
I look forward to seeing you there.”
So what could this product that will “redefine the future of gaming”? There is actually a hidden message in the source code of the page that says NVIDIA is unveiling a “revolutionary new gaming platform”. Most of what we know points to an Android console, why do we think that? Well NVIDIA has been hiring developers in the Android console development program. If it were to be an Android console we expect it to be powered by NVIDIA’s own Tegra X1 SoC. This would make it one of the most powerful Android consoles out there.
Now if it happens to not be an Android console, but another iteration of SHIELD then the whole “revolutionary new gaming platform” is just glorified marketing.
