Final Thoughts
NZXT is a brand we know for releasing quality products that not only perform well but look good doing it. The HALE82 V2 550W power supply is no different. The white color is unique, especially for a 550W power supply. This is going to look good inside pretty much any case. Another thing that you normally do not see in a 550W unit is a modular cables, this unit is fully modular so you only use the cables that you need.
When it comes to voltage regulation the unit did very well. All rails were under the 5% voltage regulation we like to see and for those wondering the regulation on each of the rails were: 3.3V: 1.51%, 5V: 1.56%, 12V: 1.65%. Very good results there. Also keep in mind that this power supply is 80PLUS Bronze certified, which means it will be 85% efficient at 50% load and 82% efficient at 100% load.
This unit uses a Sirtec design, which seems to be sufficient for a lower wattage unit like this one, but the 700W unit does run into some issue, which were noted in other reviews. This is something that you might want to keep in mind. Also while you do have the 80PLUS Bronze certification, that is all too common these days.
Right now this unit is selling for $79.99 at my favorite online retailer. At that price I do believe that you are getting a good deal on a power supply that not only looks good, but gives you some extra features you don’t normally see on other units in its class.
