Final Thoughts on the Patriot iLuxe Cube
As someone who’s struggled to backup or even pull a handful of videos and photos off my iPhone to a Windows machine the iLuxe Cube from Patriot just makes that process so much easier, and essentially seamless. All you really have to do is plug this in to your charger and then when you go to charge your phone at the end of the day all of your photos and videos from that day are instantly going to be backed up to the iLuxe Cube. And as I said that process is seamless, the Backup Bot app automatically opens and starts the process, you don’t have to do anything.
Once your data is backed up to to the iLuxe Cube you can easily access it by simply plugging the iLuxe Cube into your PC or other device. It is sad to say, but this process is so much easier than anything Apple offers, even plugging an SSD directly into your iPhone as half the time it will fail if you select too many files.
Even though the iLuxe Cube is pretty tiny, it is indeed a cube and will likely block a nearby connection on either side of it, so if you are someone that uses a USB charging hub or something similar keep that in mind. It would be nice to see a future version with a retractable USB-C connection so that wouldn’t be an issue.
You can pick up the 1TB version of the iLuxe Cube at our favorite online retailer for $139.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Patriot iLuxe Cube a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
