It wasn’t long ago that we started to look at blazing fast PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drives that offered a notable step up in performance from their older Gen 3 brethren. The VPN110 comes to us in Patriot’s standard retail packaging, which consists of a small black and red box. On the front of the box we see an image of the drive itself, along with a few specifications regarding read and write speeds of the drive. A flashy chrome sticker is affixed to the front cover showing the capacity of the drive inside – ours happens to be the 1TB version.
The front panel of the box is actually a hinged door that lets you look inside to get a glimpse of the drive being held within. With the flap open, we can see some additional marketing information about the drive and some of the features like a dedicated thermal sensor and aluminum heat shield.
Like most product boxes, the back cover lists a few of the VPN110’s features and specifications in multiple languages.
