Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Overview
Now lets take a close look to see what this luxury model has to offer. The first thing you notice when you pick the case up is that it is fairly heavy. This can be attributed to the fact that the Luxe is made mostly from steel. Which while we find this inferior to say full aluminum construction, it is far superior to plastic in most all respects, and is perfectly acceptable in the target price range. The case of course feels very solid and well put together.
Moving beyond touch, this case is just as stunning to look at as it’s siblings. With the same dual windowed side panel as the slightly under-dressed Pro, you have a great view of the important bits inside the main compartment through the smoked plastic cutout. Moving onward the similarities with the Pro end and we start to find elements familiar to the Primo. For instance we find the same rectangular style intake on the front panel as well as an all aluminum finish. Instead of the brushed look though Phanteks has chosen to go with a glossier sandblasted finish that has a slight sheen to it. As much as we like the brushed look this is equally as pleasing to the eye and something different. The same paint can be found on the back panel as well.
Unlike the asymmetric exterior of the Primo, the Luxe features sides that appear to sort of jut out a short amount with the front and top panels raised. It gives the case an very aerodynamic feel. Recessed within the front and top panel and designed to play down the angles of the side panels is the exterior LED lighting. Well get to that more once we’ve completed the installation, but we must say it’s well designed and you don’t notice it at all until the lights are turned on.
At the top of the front panel you will find the same flip cover for the USB/Audio ports found on the Pro. In addition you will find the reset switch and the control button for the LEDs. This allows you to change their color or turn them off completely. The top panel has the same removeable filtered fan screen you get on the Primo that gives you easy access to the top of the case. As with all Phanteks cases all the intakes come with easily cleaned dust filters.
