Philips T8505 True Wireless Earbuds Review

Philips T8505 True Wireless Earbuds Overview

Taking a first look at the T8505 true wireless earbuds I noticed they are definitely on the larger side compared to other wireless earbuds I’ve reviewed lately. Both earbuds have a black and dark grey color scheme with the Philips logo across the center.

The earbuds are designed to fit inside your ears with the larger round section protruding out of your ears. Philips does include a total of three sets of earbud tips so you shouldn’t have an issue getting these to fit in your ears. Being larger earbuds these pack in 13mm neodymium drivers which have a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Each earbud is equipped with two microphones. There is one for your voice if you plan to use these to make calls etc, and there is another to hear noise around you for the active noise cancelling. Also on the earbuds are two metal contacts for charging in the included case.

Where the Philips logos are on the earbuds is a capacitive touch button that is used for many different functions. There are also small LEDs on each earbud to let you know if they are powered on and paired with your device. Each earbud has a 55 mAh battery which Philips says will give you up to 6 hours of battery life with active noise cancelling turned off. If you have it on you’ll get 5 hours.

The included charging case is a bit large for my liking. It is not something that would easily fit in your front pocket, but it is small enough to be thrown in a backpack or jacket pocket. The case is all black with the Philips logo on the top. On the front there are three LEDs to let you know how charged the headphones and case is. On the back there is a USB-C port for charging, but the case can be charged wirelessly as well. I tested this with my Anker wireless charger and it worked no problem. Beside the USB-C port is a small button that is used for pairing the earbuds. The charging case has a 560 mAh battery inside so even if you are without power you can charge your headphones up. The case opens from the top to reveal slots for each earbud, which are labelled.
