Plextor Shows TLC NAND-Based SSD’s at CeBIT

Plextor is showing an unnamed line of consumer solid state drives that feature 19nm triple layer cell (TLC) NAND flash memory at CeBIT. They were showing three different capacity drives, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The drives feature 256MB, 512MB and 768MB of DRAM cache respectively. All three drives are in a 2.5-inch form factor and have a SATA 6GB/s interface. They are powered by the Marvell 88SS9189 processor.

The drives have advertised read and write speeds of 530/380 MB/s, 540/450 MB/s and 540/465 MB/s, respectively. Plextor says sales will begin this year in August. No word yet on pricing.
