It has been an exciting CES 2020 for AMD with the launch of the high-end Threadripper 3990X, as well as the 5600-series of Radeon RX GPUs. Slotted between the already released Radeon RX 5500 and Radeon RX 5700-series GPUs, the 5600 and 5600 XT offer a great solution for 1080p gamers. While we knew this product line was already on the way – ASRock’s Phantom version of the Radeon RX 5600 XT had already leaked – there were still a few items we were unsure about. Price was one of those unknowns, but now we have confirmation from AMD that AIB vendors will have Radeon RX 5600 XT-based cards available starting at $279. The Radeon RX 5600 will only be available via system OEMs like Alienware and Dell.
Specification-wise, we already had a good idea that the 5600XT was going to offer 2304 Stream Processors, but most of the other information like clock speeds was unknown. Well, now we have more information regarding those numbers, as shown below.

Also confirmed was that the Radeon RX 5600XT will sport a maximum of 6GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit interface. We have also seen a drop in memory speed compared to the 5700 series, as the 5600XT utilizes 12Gbps memory for a total of 288GB/s of memory bandwidth.
AMD has the Radeon RX 5600XT aimed squarely at NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, and according to them, Team Red outperforms Team Green on multiple AAA titles at 1080p, as well as multiple esports titles.
Available as soon as January 21, the $279 MSRP for AIB partner Radeon RX 5600XT cards has us excited to get one in our hands for testing.
