Razer has revealed its new BlackWidow V4 Pro 75%, a compact gaming keyboard packed with enhancements aimed at both competitive gamers and keyboard enthusiasts. Over the years, Razer’s keyboards have introduced numerous innovative features that have improved gameplay for many players. However, Razer hasn’t focused much on offering hot-swappable switches—until the BlackWidow V4 75%. Now, with the release of the Pro version, this feature makes a return.
It is also possible to hot-swap the optical switches with other optical switches. This highlights that hot-swappable switches are still a relatively new offering from the company. It’s a feature that gamers will likely appreciate in yet another model, especially since Razer’s default switches may not suit everyone’s preferences. Some users might prefer to replace only a few switches while leaving the others as they are.
The focus is on customization, and with the BlackWidow V4 Pro 75%, Razer is delivering that flexibility. However, this is just the beginning, as the keyboard boasts many other features as well.
One of the standout features of the BlackWidow V3 Pro and BlackWidow V4 Pro was the command dial, which provided additional customization options for hotkeys and various adjustments, like volume control. Razer is enhancing this feature further by adding an OLED panel that shows information related to the command dial. To make room for the OLED display, Razer has also relocated the command dial to the right side of the keyboard.
The new OLED panel on the keyboard allows you to view a variety of information, from keyboard status to custom animations, and can even display an audio visualizer if desired. These are just some of the many features it offers. The keyboard also now includes 4K Hz HyperPolling and Bluetooth 5.1, which Razer claims provide smoother response times and improved connectivity.
Additionally, Razer’s Chroma RGB lighting has been upgraded, featuring per-key illumination along with a 2-side underglow on each key, making the RGB lighting more vibrant. The magnetic wrist rest has also been brought back, now with a leatherette surface for added comfort.
If you’re eager to get this keyboard, pre-orders begin on September 12 through Razer’s website and RazerStore locations. It will also be available for pre-order from other retailers like Amazon and Best Buy starting on September 24.
As for pricing, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is priced at $299.99. While it’s one of Razer’s more expensive gaming keyboards, the range of features it offers makes the price understandable.
