Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Usage & Final Thoughts

I’ve been using the Razer Viper Ultimate for the past few weeks and I have to say it is one of the best wireless gaming mice mice that I’ve ever used. I think the big thing for me is just how light it is. I have been using lightweight mice (Glorious Model O, Glorious Model D) for the past year or so and I really did not think I would find a wireless mouse that would be light enough to use. The Razer Viper Ultimate is only 74g, far lighter than many other wireless gaming mice.

Using the Viper Ultimate is a joy too as it is extremely comfortable. We’ve seen many wireless mice cut down their size to be lighter, but then they end up feeling like a mobile mouse. Razer did not do that here, the Viper Ultimate feels like a normal gaming mouse. You have rubber grips on both sides which are very comfortable and the mouse has a true ambidextrous design with side buttons on both sides so you can really use this mouse in both your right or left hand.

We can’t forget the internals of this mouse either. First you have Razer’s Focus+ optical sensor. It is a 20,000 DPI sensor with a tracking speed of 650 IPS, and a 99.6% resolution accuracy. Then you have their optical mouse switches. These are very much like the optical key switches we saw on their Huntsman Elite Gaming Keyboard. The switches have an industry-leading response time of 0.2 milliseconds. We did not run into any accuracy issues and the two main buttons felt really good. Razer is also making use of their Hyperspeed wireless technology with the included USB receiver. I did not have any connectivity or input lag issues at all.

Finally Razer does include their cool charging dock. This allows you to easily charge the mouse, and when you do it puts the mouse at a cool angle so you can display your mouse. It also features a USB port so you have a place to install the USB receiver. Finally it has some RGB lighting, which is going to look pretty cool on your desk.

There really isn’t not much to not like about the Razer Viper Ultimate. Right now it is selling at our favorite online retailer for $129.99, which does have that Razer premium on it, but I feel you really are getting what you pay for here. As I said this is the best wireless mouse that I’ve ever used! Overall ThinkComputers gives the Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless Gaming Mouse a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
