Usage & Final Thoughts on the Redragon ARTEMIS K719 PRO Anime Keyboard

I’ve been using the ARTEMIS K719 PRO Anime Keyboard for the past few weeks now and I was actually quite surprised by it. When you see keyboards like this they can sometimes be a little gimmicky and are all about design, but not performance. With this keyboard you are getting the best of both worlds. Obviously we have this awesome anime design, which if you are a fan of anime you are going to love this keyboard, but the keyboard is also quite comfortable.

The keyboard has a really good feel to it not only for just typing, but also for gaming. The PBT keycaps with their OEM profile, pre-lubed linear switches, and the sound dampening built into the keyboard just give you an all around good experience. I was able to get into the groove of typing quite easily and during my gaming sessions I did not have any type of key wobble or anything like that. The keyboard also has a pretty good sound profile that is very satisfying. Below is a typing test so you know what the keyboard sounds like.

This is a tri-mode keyboard so you can use it wired, wireless via the 2.4 GHz dongle, and wireless via Bluetooth. I primarily used the keyboard in wireless mode with the 2.4 GHz dongle. I did not notice any type of input lag or have any issues with the keyboard at all. It was also nice to have a place to store the 2.4 GHz dongle if you planned to take the keyboard somewhere with you.

Redragon has shrunk this keyboard down about 20% from a normal full-size keyboard. While you still get a full number pad, some keys are missing. For me I definitely missed having a print screen key, but remember you can fully reprogram the keyboard. I think most people will appreciate the smaller size of the keyboard. Talking about reprogramming the keyboard, the Redragon software makes it really easy to do that. I would have like to see in the software the option to change how fast the keyboard goes to sleep while in wireless mode.

I think if anime is your think you are really going to enjoy this keyboard. Right now you can pick it up at our favorite online retailer for $89.99, which I feel is a very fair price. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Redragon ARTEMIS K719 PRO Anime Keyboard an 8 out of 10 score.
