Samsung unveils Galaxy Chromebook 2 with a a QLED Display

It seems like Samsung is taking the Chromebook business seriously as they have released its Galaxy Chromebook 2 within a year of the Galaxy Chromebook 1 launch.

The Chromebook 2 houses an Intel Celeron 5205U chip paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 gigs of storage. You can also opt for the Intel Core i3-10110U variant, which can be paired with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage.

It also features a 13.3-inch display. Unfortunately, this time Samsung opted for the 1080p QLED panel instead of the 4K OLED panel, but Quantum Dot technology in the panel will provide excellent color accuracy. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is made from Aluminium giving it a premium look. It weighs in at 2.71lbs and comes in Fiesta Red color option.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Chromebook features a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 6 support, two USB Type-C ports, a 720p webcam. It also features a 25.5Wh battery, backlit keyboard, and a 720p webcam.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2021. The original Chromebook started at $999, however, the Celeron variant of Chromebook 2 is priced at $549, while the i3 variant is priced at $699.
