Installation
We will be installing the Kabuto 3 in our Intel Z97 system. This is not a very expensive cooler ($24) so we did not expect an extensive mounting system. As we mentioned the Intel hardware was already pre-installed on our cooler. If it happens to not be on your cooler you would just use the supplied screws and mount it to the base of the cooler.
Now you need to apply the thermal paste. It is a little hard to get the best application as the paste comes in a bag rather than a syringe.
Remove the fan from the heatsink. This is easily done as the fan is held in place with simple clips. Carefully place the cooler over your CPU and line up the pushpins with the holes in your motherboard. Placing the cooler on your CPU one by one press the pushpins down to lock the cooler in place.
Now just reinstall your fan, connect it to the CPU fan header on your motherboard and you are good to go. As you can see even with our fan installed there is no clearance issues at all.
