Scythe Shuriken 3 CPU Cooler Overview
The Scythe Shuriken 3 is definitely one of the smallest CPU coolers that I’ve ever reviewed. The official dimensions are 92.0 x 94.4 x 39.0 mm (WxDxH). Being this small and compact means that this cooler is definitely designed for small form factor systems and you won’t have any clearance issues at all.
Sitting at the top of the cooler is our cooling fan which is Scythe’s own Kaze Flex 92 Slim AH PWM fan. This 92mm fan will spin up to 2500 RPM with a max airflow of 36.45 CFM and max noise level of 31.78 dBA. If you are wondering, the fan itself is only 16mm thick.

Below the fan is going to be our heatsink stack, which itself is only 23mm thick. That makes the entire cooler only 39mm thick! The heatsink is manufactured through reflow soldering, so each fin and heatpipe of the Shuriken 3 is soldered together. This is not only increases its stability but also enhances thermal efficiency.

When it comes to the heatpipes we have four 6mm thick nickel-plated copper heatpipes. The base of the cooler is also nickel-plated copper and has a nice finish on it, although there are machining marks visible.
