SilverStone Kublai Series KL05 Case Review

Packaging
There must be a formal packaging law somewhere for computer cases. Maybe a JEDEC standard law that fits all packing procedures for your average computer case, as not much is ever different in the way they all seem to be packed. The Kublai is no different here. There is the usual double ply corrugated boxing on the outside and the name of the products and an example of either the KL05-Q (sound insulated model) or the (KL05-W)windowed sport model that could both be packed in the same box if they so desired. That my friend saves money. There is just the standard Black Ink on the box so that is another cost saving item. But the box is tough double ply and sturdy.
Also the box is marked for the model inside the box and the QR Code which is ” a cell phone readable bar code that can store website URL’S, Plain text, phone numbers, email addresses and any other alphanumeric data.” It’s the weird looking square at the bottom right of the box with all the dots and squares and can probably get you to this review. Who Knows?

Front Box

Both sides of the case have the obligatory handles that make carrying the case into the house a breeze and the weight is not heavy either. Although the word (Introduction) is misspelled in big letters it still is a brief description of the case the Specifications under that part is very accurate. The features of the case with a QR code for each of the 9 languages is repeated for all World to read and get to know.

Side box

The back of the case gives a very technical review of the layout and the features of the case in a diagram that is easy for anyone to understand.

Back of Box

I learned to always open from the bottom so here is a look at the internally packaged case in it’s cocoon. The look is tight and very well insulated from shock and environmental hazards or overseas boat rides.

Opened Box

The typical Styrofoam rating for this case packaging is high for our Good/Better/Best standard with a very solid Better rating. The foam is highly compacted and very break resistant.

Styo covered

The plastic has a few small holes to allow for an easier packaging process and the plastic that wrapped the SilverStone Kubai KL05-W in is a little stronger than your average sandwich bag. That maybe a bad analogy but it is accurate and the plastic covering does what it is supposed to do.

plastic covered

Both sides of the side acrylic window is covered with plastic to keep it clean and pretty for the trip to your studio, but if you are the type that likes to keep the plastic on the window then you might want to cut it to fit and then reinstall it because its not quite cut to size.
