SK hynix Beetle X31 Portable Solid State Drive Overview
As we take a first look at the Beetle X31 it is not all that big at all, the official dimensions are 74 X 46 X 14.8 mm and it weighs in at 53g. This means that it is going to be very easy to fit in your pocket or throw in a backpack.
The color of the drive is what I would call a champagne gold and the shape is more of a rectangle than a circular beetle shape, although the corners are rounded. The interesting thing about the drive is that there are not any SK hynix logos or anything on the top, you just get that nice champagne gold color.
Flipping the drive over to the back there are two rubber feet that will keep it in place on your desk and here is where you’ll find a SK hynix logo, serial numbers, etc. If you are wondering the outer casing of the drive is made of aluminum, which will help dissipate some heat.
There is a single connection on the drive which is the Type-C. Keep in mind that SK hynix does provide both a USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables. Right next to the USB-C connection is a small activity LED.
SK hynix also provides a clear rubberized protective case which not only will protect your drive but also your desk or other tech you might have in your backpack that is around the drive. This protective case simply slides right on the drive.
