Spider-Man Has Sold Over 20 Million Copies Making it Sony’s Biggest Hit Ever

There’s no doubt that Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of the most successful games by Sony. The question now arises how many copies are actually sold. As per the last figures when Sony bought Insomniac in August 2019, a little over 13 million copies of the game were sold. The sales haven’t stopped, and as per the LinkedIn page of David Bul, senior manager of PlayStation’s global brand marketing, the game has crossed the 20 million mark. The page has been edited now but a Twitter user, Timur222, was quick enough to take a screenshot.

The 20 million is quite a milestone as only one other Sony-published game, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, was able to reach that milestone. Moreover, Bull says the Spiderman has sold over 20 million copies, but he wasn’t clear about what over stands for. It could be a significant amount or a negligible one. However, GameStat estimates the total sales by tracking PSN accounts, and they say the game has brought together 30 million players. Some people might be using their friends or family members account, but still, the figure clearly indicates that the game has clearly crossed the 20 million mark.
