SteelSeries Releases the Apex Gaming Keyboard

SteelSeries has announced the availability of the Apex Gaming keyboard. Unlike most illuminated keyboard the Apex offers 5 different colors zones. So through the software you can select between 16.8 million colors for each of the 5 zones and there are 8 levels of illumination. This will make for a really cool looking keyboard! This is a full-sized keyboard so you have a full set of keys plus number pad.

Beyond that there are 22…yes 22 macro keys! There are also 4 profiles or as SteelSeries calls them layers. So with 4 layers you have a total of 88 potential macros! The top set of macro keys are actually raised so they are easier to press.

There are actually small bumps on the WASD keys so your hand never leaves them and they are easy to find in a intense gaming session. SteelSeries has added extra arrow keys as well to give you the best directional buttons available. The spacebar is about double the size of a normal spacbar. Finally SteelSeries has added a few multimedia keys on the right side of the keyboard.
