V3 Black Edition Overview
When you first take a look at the V3 Black Edition you really think it is a mATX case, but it will actually fit a normal sized ATX motherboard. The case is definitely smaller than most mid tower cases we have looked at recently. The official dimensions are 16.9(H) x 7.5(W) x 18.6(L) in.
Starting out at the front of the case you will notice there is an all mesh design, which helps air flow into the case. This is something that we’ve seen on more and more cases recently. Towards the bottom of the case there is a Thermaltake logo and a large honeycombed section that sits right in front of there you could place a 120mm fan, but it is not included.
Moving up the case you have your front ports which include 2 USB and audio ports. On the right is the power and reset button and on the left there is the HDD led. There is also 1 3.5-inch external bay. Moving all the way up you have your 4 5.25-inch external bays, all of which have a mesh covering on them.
The side of the case is pretty plain except for a small window and a square set of exhaust vents. The window on the case has to be one of the smallest I’ve seen on any case!
The back of the case is pretty basic, as you can see the power supply is mounted on the bottom of the case, which I do prefer. You can also see the 120mm blue LED fan on the back of the case. The one thing that was missing from this case were the thumbscrews, Thermaltake has gone with normal screws on the side panel.
On the top of the case there is room for 2 more 120mm exhaust fans. If we flip the case over we can see that Thermaltake has used very simple case feet for the V3. Also you can see another spot for a 120mm fan on the bottom of the case; we will see more of that when we get inside.
