Verizon FiOS 150/35

Verizon FiOS is something that I’ve wanted for quite some time. Every year we see high and higher speeds for about the same price. Unfortunately, FiOS is limited to certain areas and won’t be available anytime soon in my area. It’s always something to dream about having, especially when the highest speed you can get at your residence is 6Mbps down and 1Mbps up.
There are a few plans, 15/5, 25/25, 50/20 and the most for residences, 150/35. The highest plan will comes in at $199.99 per month, without a Verizon phone, or $194.99 with. Even if FiOS was available in my area, it’s probably not something I could afford, which is why it’s on my wish list this year.

Dual 27” Monitors

It’s been proven that having a second monitor increases work productivity, which is one of the main reasons why I’d want two 27” monitors. To be more specific, the ASUS VE278Q Black 27″ 1920×1080 2ms Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor would be my monitor of choice. This would be an upgrade from my current 25.5” monitor and certainly allow me to increase my productivity.

The VE278Q features an ASCR 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time, as well as your standard 1920 x1080 format. Now I would just have to get a desk big enough to support two large monitors.

Home Theater System

Within the past year I got my own place, acquire my own 55” TV, but have been reluctant to purchase a home theatre system. While I have a Blu-ray drive on my personal computer, it’s just not worth it to lug the computer from the office to the living room every time I want to watch a movie. Plus, the basic sound on the TV I have, just doesn’t cut it for movies.

The SONY BDV-E580 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System would be my desired home theatre system of choice. While it’s not a top of the line speaker system, the bundled package makes an easy pick for me. It comes in at $499.99, which includes the Blu-ray player and ample sound for someone that doesn’t watch movies that often.

Larger SSD

greg4

I’ve been running on a 40GB SSD for quite some time and only have my OS and a few programs installed on it. Having additional storage on a larger SSD would allow me to use quite a number of additional programs straight off of my SSD, rather than relying on my 1.5TB HDD.

My SSD of choice would be the OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-480G 2.5″ 480GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD). It comes with a hefty price tag of $699.99, but this is a Wish List right, so why not wish for an expensive drive?

Gaming Mouse

I’ve been using an old Gigabyte Laser Mouse for quite a while now and while it’s still functional, you can tell it’s starting to wear out. There’s plenty of discoloration where my fingers would rest and the pads have plenty of scratches to match. I’ve been a wired mouse man for quite some time, but have always been interested in switching over to wireless.

I’d really enjoy a Razer Mamba 2012 Elite Ergonomic Wireless Gaming Mouse. It features 6400 DPI, a 4G Dual Sensor System and improved battery life. It’s also big enough to fit the contour of my larger hands and looks pretty sweet with the multi-color lighting. However, it has a hefty price tag, especially for a mouse, of $119.99.
