ThinkComputers Holiday 2011 Staff Wish List

Well it is that time of year again, Christmas!  Each year we always tell our loved ones what we would like for Christmas, but we do not always get it.  The staff here at ThinkComputers has compiled a list of products they would like for Christmas.  Even though we review awesome products all year there are still a few things that we want so read on to check out the staff wish list for 2011!

When it comes down to it I really do not have the need for a lot of things, especially gadgets and computer hardware, but there are a few things I would like, they are listed below.

Canon EOS 60D Camera

I’ve had a Digital-SLR camera for quite some time (Canon Rebel XT), while this camera is still great for shooting photos, there are no video capabilities.  Since we started the ThinkComputers YouTube channel we have been shooting a lot of video and it would be nice to have a great camera like the EOS 60D to shoot video.  The EOS 60D shoots full 1920 x 1080 HD video not to mention has an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor.  I also like that the LCD does come out and swivel, this means I can actually see what I’m shooting if I’m doing unboxing videos by myself.

Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display

I have been using the same 2 LCD monitors for well over a year now.  They are both 23-inch displays and they do work very well, but I think it is time for an upgrade.  I was recently at a local college and they have a few systems setup with Apple’s 27-inch LED Cinema displays and I was instantly hooked!  Unlike most displays these have a max resolution of 2560 x 1440 so it really is like you have 2 displays in one.  It gives you quite a lot of room to work with and the display is very crisp.  I think that 2 of these sitting on my desk would just be awesome!

Lian Li T60 Test Bench

Believe it or not I do not have a test bench.  I’ve had a few over the past few years but for the most part they have been garbage.  Since I do most of the motherboard reviews here at ThinkComputers having a test bench would make things so much easier.  This way I wouldn’t have to use different cases for test systems.  The Lian Li T60 Test Bench comes in 3 different colors (black, silver, red) and is one of the better put together test benches that I’ve seen.  The T60 can be picked up for just over $100 so it is definitely something to consider.

Herman Miller Embody Chair

Running ThinkComputers is a full-time job so most of the day I am sitting at my desk in front of my 2 displays.  I have a nice computer chair that I have been using for about 3 years now so it is a bit worn in and has become not that comfortable.  The Embody chair holds quite a hefty price-tag at $1200, but if you are sitting at your desk all day having a nice comfortable chair is a necessity.  This is what Herman Miller has to say about the Embody, “The Embody seat and back are a dynamic matrix of pixels that stimulates blood and oxygen flow by reducing seated pressure. All that oxygen helps you think better. The chair back adjusts instinctively to every move you make and keeps support of your lower back constant. Embody keeps you in a neutral, balanced posture as you work, so you stay relaxed and focused.”

Logitech Performance Mouse MX

A new mouse is something that I have been needing for quite some time really.  I have been using the NZXT Avatar S gaming mouse for quite some time and while it is a good mouse I want something a little better.  I have always been a fan of Logitech mice and the Performance Mouse MX seems like the perfect fit.  It is wireless, uses Logitech® Darkfield Laser Tracking, it is rechargeable and is a large mouse, which I do prefer.  The mouse can be found online for around $80.
