TRIBIT StormBox 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Overview
The TRIBIT StormBox 2 is your typical cylindrical-shaped speaker. This shape is actually quite popular and allows for you to either stand the speaker up or set it on its side. If you are wondering about size the official dimensions are 180mm x69mm x 69mm and it weighs in at 1.54 lbs.
The speaker is wrapped in a sort of fabric, again something that has become very popular on portable Bluetooth speakers as it makes it quite easy to pick up. If you are wondering about colors the speaker is mostly a dark grey and black and as of right now this is the only color option that TRIBIT is offering.
The speaker itself is also offers an IPX7 waterproof rating so this would be the perfect speaker for when you are on the go, at the pool, beach or even on a long hike. Talking about those long hikes or long days at the beach TRIBIT has upgraded the battery on this speaker so now it offers 24 hours or playback time!
When it comes to controls on the front of the speaker there is a large +, O, and -. The plus and minus are for volume and the O button will be play/pause and if you triple tap it, it will go a track back. On the opposite side there is a power button, Bluetooth button, X-bass button, and a TWS mode button. TWS allows you to link multiple TRIBIT speakers together. There is also a hidden compartment in which you’ll find a USB-C connection for charging and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Under the hood this speaker has dual 48mm full-range speakers and on each end you can see the passive radiators. This setup is designed for 360-degree sound so no matter where you are in relation to the speaker you’ll have the same listening experience. On one end there is a small lanyard which will allow you to connect the speaker to something like a backpack. If you are wondering about Bluetooth protocols it does support A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP and both AAC and SBC codecs.
