Late in November AMD filed a trademark application with the USPTO for a new logo for its second generation “Vega” graphics architecture. The logo itself looks very similar to the original Vega “V”. but has two bands marking out the Roman numeral II (2).
This logo is likely to appear on the product and marketing on Radeon Pro and Radeon Instinct (possibly even gaming-grade Radeon RX) graphics cards based on AMD’s new “Vega 20” multi-chip module. With Vega 20 AMD is doing an optical shrink of the GPU die down to 7 nm and is doubling the memory bandwidth thanks to its 4096-bit wide HBM2 memory interface.
