It looks like Intel will be changing up their packaging with the release of their 8-core, 16-thread Core i9-9900K processor. They are ditching the normal square box and going with a dodecahedron, which is a 12-sided 3D object with pentagonal faces.
The front shows the Core i9 branding and does confirm that we will refer the “Coffee Lake-Refresh” as the 9th generation Core processor family. Currently we do not know if the box includes a cooler. Does it match up with AMD’s over the top packaging?
This chip has also been listed online for $582.50. Again, that is for a 8-core, 16-thread chip that has a base clock of 3.60 GHz and boosts up to 5.0 GHz.
