Watch ThinkComputers editor Colin Dean in the PC Race for Charity

ThinkComputers editor Colin Dean will be competing in the Systemax’s 13th Annual Build Your Own PC Race for Charity, sponsored by Intel and CA. The event takes place 5:30-8:00 p.m. PST on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Wynn Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas.

Each racer will donate the computer they assembled, along with a complete selection of peripherals and upgrades, to the charity of their choice. The top three winners also receive a total of $13,500 in cash which will be donated to their designated charities- $10,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively. – official release.

Dean will compete with 29 other technology journalists, including Jason Jacobs and Stephen Fung from ThinkComputers affiliates Techware Labs and Futurelooks, respectively. Dean took fourth place last year, less than 30 seconds behind first place winner Al Hernandez from Fox Morning News.

For those not in the Las Vegas area, the event will be streamed live on UStream.tv.
