Windows 11 Will Be A Free Upgrade for Windows 10 Users, But Not Till 2022

In a recent tweet Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 will launch later this year (2021). But the operating system won’t be made available as a free upgrade to existing Windows 10 users before the first half of 2022.

This means if you are a current Windows 10 user and you want to check out Windows 11 you are going to either purchase it at retail or through an OEM, or simply wait till the first half of 2022.

In the tweet Microsoft said, “Windows 11 is due out later in 2021 and will be delivered over several months. The rollout of the upgrade to Windows 10 devices already in use today will begin in 2022 through the first half of that year.”
