XPG Battleground XL Prime RGB Mouse Pad Review

Setup & Lighting

Getting the XPG Battleground XL Prime set up is quite easy. Just place it on your desk and connect the included USB cable. As I mentioned earlier this is a very large mouse pad so it is going to take up a considerable amount of room on your desk. Here is it installed on our Autonomous SmartDesk 2.

One of the big selling points of the XPG Battleground XL Prime is of course RGB lighting. When you first plug in the mouse pad the RGB lights should turn on, but if they don’t just press the control button once. Once turned on we have RGB lighting that goes around the entire mouse pad. This looks pretty good during the day, but at night it is even better!

As there is no software you can cycle through different colors using the control button. You can choose between white, blue, indigo, green, yellow, red, purple, and a mode that will do a breathing effect while cycling though colors. Here are some shots of the different colors.

Now there are two different light strips in the Battleground XL Prime. To select between the two you double-click the control button. The selected strip will flash and you can then change the color / effect on that strip.

Now if you are going to bed or for some reason don’t want the lights on you can hold the control button for 3 seconds and the lights will turn off.
