ADATA SC740 External Solid State Drive Overview
The SC740 is a pretty small drive and sort of has the same form factor as a flash drive, but is much bigger. The official dimensions of the drive are 121.75 x 40.5 x 22.3mm / 4.8 x 1.6 x 0.88inch with the cable folded and it weighs in at only 40g or 1.41oz. The drive is definitely small enough to fit in your pocket easily.
The outer casing of the drive definitely feels like plastic, but the drive meets the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 impact resistance standard to easily survive accidental drops and jarring. The drive is all black with some blue accents. On the front there is an ADATA logo.
Flipping the drive over we can see how ADATA has integrated the USB-C cable. There is a little slot that holds the connector in place. You can easily remove it from this slot to connect it to your device. The other end of the cable is directly connected into the drive. This makes it so you always have the cable (there have been many times I’ve forgotten my cable!).
