Final Thoughts on the ADATA SD820 Portable Solid State Drive
Once again ADATA has released another excellent portable solid state drive. It offer broad compatibility whether you plan to use it on your PC, Mac, Console, or even mobile device. The drive is quite small and light, which makes it easy for you to take with you anywhere. The drive is rugged too, and offers IP68 water and dust protection, which is a good thing if you plan to take this drive out with you in the field.
In our testing this drive performed right up to the rated speeds of 2000 MB/s and we did no run into really any issues with the drive at all. Some may say the included USB cable is a bit long, especially if you are using it with a laptop. But I actually preferred it as I was mainly using the drive on my PC. Another thing to note is that ADATA does not offer any companion or backup software with this drive keep that in mind.
Right now is such a bad time to review storage products, as pricing and availability is pretty insane. You can pick up the 2TB version of this drive on Amazon, but it is $550, ADATA has it in their web shop for $349.99.
Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA SD820 Portable Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score!
