ADATA SE900G Portable Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

This is the first USB 3.2 gen 2×2 portable solid state drive that we’ve taken a look at and I am for sure impressed! You are basically doubling the speed from previous USB 3.2 gen 2 drives and you can see that in our test results. With read and write speeds between 1800 – 2000 MB/s, the SE900G is the perfect drive if you are transferring a lot of files, using it as a portable game drive, or even as a portable editing drive for photos and video.

The drive comes with both a USB-C cable and USB-C to USB-A cable so not matter what you are plugging it into you are good to go. When comparing to other portable solid state drives out there the SE900G is a bit on the larger side, but it is still definitely pocketable. The RGB lighting on the drive is pretty cool and looks good, but there is no way to control it or turn it off, which could get annoying.

Right now the SE900G is selling at our favorite online retailer for $159.99 for the 1TB version, which I feel is a very fair price for the speed and performance of the drive. ADATA also backs the drive up with a 5-year warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA SE900G Portable Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
