AMD Providing Ryzen Platform Drivers for Windows 7

It has been reported that AMD is providing platform (chipset) drivers for its upcoming AM4 platform for the Windows 7 operating system. This is quite noteworthy as Intel did not and is not planning to provide 200-series chipset drivers that drive Core “Kaby Lake” processors and their on-board graphics cores for Windows 7.

This means that people who have not switched or upgraded to Windows 10 yet will be able to use new AMD Ryzen CPUs and accompanying motherboards with the aging Windows 7 operating system. Integrated graphics drivers could also power integrated graphics in AMD’s 7th generation A-series “Bristol Ridge” APUs, and the three socket AM4 chipsets – A320, B350, and X370.
