AMD Responds To Bulldozer Lawsuit

Last week as we reported AMD is being being taken to court over misrepresentation of the CPU core count on its “Bulldozer” architecture by California resident Tony Dickey. He claims that because of the way they are physically structured, AMD’s 8-core “Bulldozer” chips really only have 4 cores.

An AMD spokesperson responded to the matter stating, “We believe our marketing accurately reflects the capabilities of the Bulldozer architecture which, when implemented in an 8-core AMD FX processor, is capable of running eight instructions concurrently.”

That has not been any further developement on the lawsuit, but if we hear something we will definitely let you know.
