AMD Zen4 Will Offer Up To 24% Better IPC Than Zen3

There was a leak circulating around only a day earlier regarding an engineering sample of the Raphael desktop CPU which features 16 threads and 8 cores and will be clocked at 5.2 GHz. These specs already show an increase of 10 percent from the Ryzen 7 5800X based on 8 cores. This can even increase by 14 percent as per the latest video released by Moore’s Law is Dead.

The YouTube channel has also commented on the IPC (instructions per cycle) which according to them can increase by more than 24 percent. This is quite clear that the Zen4 has surpassed the Zen3 IPC as the gains are even more than what the Zen3 improved over the Zen2. The single thread performance also seems to have increased tremendously thanks to the increase in the clock speeds and the IPC. However, no numbers are provided to us so far.

Apart from this leak on the Zen4, we also have the launch schedule for the EPYC 7004 as well as the Ryzen 7000. There doesn’t seem to be any change to what we already knew regarding this. However, we do get some information on the Zen4 products which will be released in the coming months.

Moore’s Law is Dead has again emphasized on the same rumors regarding the 16-core Raphael mobile series which have been given an official codename of ‘Dragon Range’. Whether these mobile series make use of the same desktop silicon is still something that AMD hasn’t commented on so far.
